Only 41 years ago today, we were all rejoicing with the birth of our first daughter, Melissa Ann. She was the first girl born in the Ezell family in 52 years. Although our fourth child, she was our first daughter. What a wonderful day that was. Melissa had to put up with a lot while growing up with three older brothers…and one younger sister…but she was always one to “hold her own” and not let much get past her. One of my favorite memories of Melissa as a little girl was her desire to be a Avon lady which drove her brother Scott crazy! These are precious memories…along with many others. Melissa, have a wonderful birthday and I am so proud of you. You continue to bring joy to my life and I love you more than you can possible realize. Have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
We had a frost last night and I’m hoping that’s all until fall…don’t like having to cover all my flowers and lilac tree and bushes. We’ve had lots of rain the last several days but today we’re headed upward and getting back to some warmer days. That’s a BIG Yeah!!! With the derby activities going on in Louisville, it’s a good thing that warmer/drier days are predicted. A soggy derby isn’t near as much fun as a dry one!
No news so guess I’ll get myself up and going for the day. We’re starting the day off by taking our van into the shop…AC/Heat not working and we have acquired a strange noise that’s a concern. I’m praying it’ll be repaired and will last for a lot longer but we have about 220,000 miles on it and I imagine it’s just getting old and tired…I can relate to that myself!
