We got a call from Tanya yesterday evening, as we were on our way to our final Life Group meeting, telling us we were being put on notice. Daniel was having pain in his right side…had been for over 24 hours…and she was taking him to the ER to see if it might be his appendix. After a CT scan, and whatever other test they do, the doctors said he needed the appendix removed. So at 3:15 this morning he was in surgery. He’s doing well and is coming home tomorrow (Tuesday) and for that we are all thankful. We stayed with the kids last night, since Tanya was at the hospital with Daniel, and she virtually worked today with zero sleep. She had to do the final infusion this morning on her patient in Somerset…a five hour round trip…and she’s now totally exhausted and should sleep well tonight. Get better, Daniel, and listen to your “private duty” nurse! She knows her stuff!
We…George, Jim, Linda, and myself…enjoyed celebrating George’s birthday this past Friday and Saturday in Glasgow, KY. When Linda and I began making the arrangements for this, we had hoped we could rent a boat so the guys could fish and we could enjoy being on the Barren River. That didn’t happen since the river is still high from all the floods two weeks ago…in fact the parking lot was still partly under water. They did do a little bank fishing and seemed to have enjoyed that. Jim finally caught a nice bass…after we left so we didn’t actually see it…and that made the day for him. Glasgow isn’t a very exciting town, but the B & B was nice, the restaurants were good, and our time together was priceless.
We continue to have rain most every day anymore and tonight we saw a beautiful FULL rainbow that ended up being a double rainbow. This one went all the way to the ground and was so big and bright. God sure did good when he designed the rainbow!
Tomorrow I hope to get back to painting at the blue house…I have several errands to do in the morning so it won’t be until afternoon…and we need to reorganized our “work-out-of room”…it’s beginning to take on a life of it’s own. We are seriously thinking of making this house into a “Guest House” …like a Bed and Breakfast but just no breakfast. We think there is a need for one and this house is ideally located to both colleges here in Wilmore and only a few miles from Lexington. Guess if we find out there is NOT a need for one, we can then sell it. The house is getting better all the time, but there is still much work to do towards completion…and furnishings for each room if we do decide to make it into a guest house.
Guess I’ll go get myself ready for bed…I’m tired…and do some fun reading before time to go to sleep. Please keep Daniel in your prayers…along with Tanya and the children…as the next few days will be busy ones for them. Daniel hopes to be able to return to work on Friday, so he’s expecting a quick recovery. Have a great week and try to stay dry
Blessings……
